Cupid’s arrow hit a bullseye online when it came to Sara Haines and her husband, Max Shifrin.

The View co-host met the lawyer on a dating app after she created a profile for a segment on Good Morning America. According to the TV personality, despite its challenges, she was determined to "participate" in the dating world. Haines echoed similar words years later while sitting beside Shifrin as they shared their love story.

“I believe you have to create your own luck, so I thought I’m not running into my boo at a produce department or tripping on him on a street, like all the rom-coms told me I would, so I need to add some effort here,’ ” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle in 2019.

Shifrin, who admittedly “had no idea” who Haines was, came across her profile on OkCupid, and the two began dating in 2012. The couple went on to wed in 2014 and are now parents of three kids: Alec Richard, Sandra Grace and Caleb Joseph.

After the birth of their third child, Haines told PEOPLE they were adjusting to a full house. “But within the chaos, we constantly remind each other to pause and take it all in. We feel very lucky," she said.

So who is Sara Haines' husband? Here's everything to know about Max Shifrin and his relationship with the on-air talent.

The Brooklyn Law School alum is a partner at BakerHostetler, according to the law firm’s website. Haines’ husband “resolves complex commercial disputes for global clients” and is said to devote a “substantial amount of his time to pro bono work.”

Shifrin graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2010 after attending the University of Connecticut, where he earned a bachelor's in history and political science, per his LinkedIn.

In a personal essay for Glamour, the TV personality recalled having a dating profile set up for her when she was a contributing correspondent on the Today show.

“One of the producers, who was a friend, said, ‘Can we make an online dating profile for you for a segment about what to do and what not to do?’ I was like, ‘Done!’ ‘Cause that was on my to-do list,” she wrote in 2017.

After the segment ran, Haines was told she could delete her profile but decided to keep it. The former Good Morning America co-host committed herself to the process and thought, "'If I can go to the gym an hour a day, I can spend an hour a day whether I’m looking online or on a date for one drink.' "

In an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, Shifrin revealed that he “had no idea who Sara was” and that her profile did not describe what she did. “I was definitely hoping to find somebody of Sara’s caliber,” he said, adding that she was a “worthwhile find.”

According to Haines, they went on their first date in 2012, where she went in for a hug, and he was going for a handshake. Soon after, they documented the start of their romance with a photo, which she shared on Instagram nearly a decade later.

Haines and Shifrin made their red carpet debut as a couple in March 2012 at a New York City event. While the couple kept the details of their relationship under wraps, she was wearing an engagement ring on Good Morning America by March 2014.

Discussing the proposal with Yahoo! Lifestyle, Shifrin revealed he knew he would marry her about six months in, and he popped the question early one morning.

“I literally got up, crawled out of bed in my pajamas and got on one knee on the floor next to the bed," he said, adding that he hadn't come up with an elaborate plan.

Haines interjected, “It’s like 6:30 a.m. on a Tuesday.” Although Shifrin can't remember what he said, he does recall his future wife laughing until she said yes. "We had a lovely day afterward," the lawyer concluded.

Haines and Shifrin got married in November 2014 in the Bahamas, according to an Instagram reposted by the bride.

“When I married Max, I still [didn't] know if he was The One. I mean that in an open way,” she said in her personal essay for Glamour. “I tell Max, ‘There’s no one person.’ We both agree on this."

The Chase host revealed that she only knew she wanted to commit to their relationship. "It wasn’t as romantic or fairy-tale-ish as ‘I’ve been looking for you my whole life.’ It wasn’t any of that," Haines added before calling Shifrin her best friend.

Haines and Shifrin welcomed their first child, Alec Richard, named after both of their dads, on March 5, 2016. Their second child, a daughter named Sandra Grace after Haines' mom, was born on Dec. 23, 2017. The couple's third child, son Caleb Joseph, arrived on June 26, 2019, and was named after Haines’ grandfather and brother.

During a Q&A on her Instagram Story in 2020, the mom of three was asked how she manages to juggle her kids with work, and she opened up about why they expanded their family fast.

"We wanted more, and I was older, so we didn't have the luxury of time to catch our breath. We just stayed in the chaos," Haines replied. "Still there ... send help."

Haines has said that she “would love 10 more” kids, but three is all she “can handle” while being the “best version for each of them.”

Haines has offered to “pay” her husband for putting their children to bed. During a taping of The View, she recalled turning to her husband and saying, “I’m willing to have transactional deals with you if you could just put the kids to bed, please.”

Haines added, “That’s about how romantic the suggestion felt too. It was like ‘I will pay you in other things, other currency, if you go ahead and put those kids to bed.' ”

"You see it as a bartering system?" co-host Joy Behar said. Haines answered, "If that’s what he needs, and this is what I need, I think it sounds like a perfect solution.”
